Giving Thanks 2020 – Week Eight

So it’s not a complete week, but I’m trying to make this a ‘Monday’ thing so bear with me until I get this right! Here is a list of things that I am grateful for the past few days.

19th February 2020

I don’t know if I can exactly call this ‘gratitude’ but I am quite amused and yes, grateful that I receive money ‘legally’ (get paid usually for current/past work or any old debt) when I really need it, like today! I had enough to pull from savings, but I didn’t want to and now I don’t need to BECAUSE I GOT PAID – ahead of time to finalise some contractual obligation, I’m not complaining. Yay, me.

20th February 2020

I met my lovely friend Nivendra from university and his wonderful girlfriend Nisali for coffee at Kiku. The Cafe was lovely, so much so that I even posted about it on Instagam! It was so nice to meet them, I haven’t been going out much to meet people because well, I just haven’t been feeling it, but these two were the energy I needed, not too much and not too less, I would like to think that their expertise in psychology had something to do with this too haha. Also I still had their Christmas presents and Nisali was leaving to Uni soon so a meetup was necessary!

A wild Thursday night in
A wild Thursday night in. I’ve also become a terrible alcoholic and had only two ciders and ended up with a headache.

On my way home, because I was out, I thought I would go for a drink at the new Mintage closer (ish) to my place, only to find out that they didn’t serve alcohol. #Fail So I went to Keells and bought some ciders – the bottle of arrack I had at home. Sad to say though I managed to only finish two bottles of cider before getting a headache. My alcoholic father must be stirring in his grave in shame. Sigh.

21st February 2020

It was a holiday today and we got to more painting inside the house, which meant more cleaning, cleaning and cleaning for us. Nothing amusing but here are some pictures of the chaos. I guess I’m grateful that we can actually afford to work on these little projects and for my Mum’s skills in handling and managing money.

22nd February 2020

Saturday! Slightly disoriented because yesterday was a holiday too. Did some more cleaning and put up my blinds with a biiiit of help from Mum.

23rd February 2020

Lunch with Mum
We had lunch today together outside of home, on a weekend! So much fun.

It was a glorious Sunday! ☀️I went to watch a film in the morning while Mum was at a meeting, then had lunch with her (we cook a lot at home so don’t eat out as much) and then got some ice cream on the way back from McDonald’s. Probably the best one I’ve had in a while! ❤️

So tell me, what were you grateful for these past few days?

PS – I have a Facebook page that I’m still not too comfortable throwing around, but want you all to (secretly) know about 🙂
